Duo to remain at Portman Road until the end of the season after Town take up options to extend loan agreements
- Striker to remain with Blues until end of the season
- Can also cover the Play-Offs if needed
- Impressed in his six appearances so far
- Chaplow almost to remain in Suffolk
- Scored winner v Watford
Town have extended Luke Varney’s loan from Blackburn until the end of the season.
The striker arrived at Portman Road on an initial month’s loan from the Lancashire side, with the option to extend until the end of the season always in place.
That clause has now been utilised by Town and the former Charlton and Leeds man will remain in Suffolk until May 2nd, with an option in place for the Play-Offs to be covered as well.
Luke made his debut against Reading last month and has so far made six appearances for the Blues.
Town’s number 15 has also represented Crewe, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth and Blackpool during his career, representing the latter in the Premier League.
Meanwhile the Blues have also taken up the option to extend Richard Chaplow's loan, again until the end of the season.
The midfielder has impressed since arriving from Millwall and netted a dramatic injury time winner against Watford last time out.
He will now remain at Portman Road until the end of the season, although that loan can be extended further to cover the Play-Offs if needed
