Chaplow admits he's feeling over the moon after netting dramatic winner for Blues at Vicarage Road
Richard Chaplow could hardly contain his delight at netting a dramatic injury time winner for Town, when speaking to Ipswich Player at Vicarage Road.
The Millwall loanee came off the bench to win the game for Blues deep into injury time, latching onto a Freddie Sears through ball before calmly slotting into the corner to send the Town players and fans into raptures.
“That’s what football is all about, a brilliant moment,” Richard told the official Club website.
“It was a great feeling to score and it was for all the lads really, as they had done all the hard work before I’d even stepped onto the pitch.
“The gaffer told me to go on and make a difference and help the team where I could- I don’t think he expected me to go and get the winner but we’ll take that all day long!
“It’s a huge win for us and we are right back in the mix again, heading into the international break.
“It was important we left with a good result and I’m just delighted to have played my part for the boys.
“Hats off to the fans as well, they made themselves heard from minute one and as you could see from the celebrations, that goal meant a hell of a lot to everyone involved.”
