Mick on the look out for a goalscorer from the middle of the park
The vast majority of Blues’ 72 Championship goals in the 2014/15 campaign were shared between the strikers and defenders Christophe Berra [six goals] and Tommy Smith [four].
Jay Tabb was the only midfielder to score more than once in the League last season and Mick is keen to provide more firepower from that area of the pitch.
“It has been one of my big bugbears that we have not had enough goals from midfield,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“We have relied heavily on Murph and Didz for the goals over the last two years, with the defenders contributing their fair share as well.
“It’s getting there that matters, not how you do it and we got to 78 points but our midfield players and wide players have got to contribute more in terms of goals.
“Of course if a goalscoring midfielder becomes available, I would love to bring one in. If we can find them, we will try.”
