Boss looking for repeat performance against Millers as Blues aim to close gap on Play-Offs

Mick McCarthy will be looking for his side to match the level of performance shown in the win over Bolton when Blues take on Rotherham at the weekend.

Town ended a run of seven games without a win with a comprehensive display and victory over the Trotters on Tuesday to close the gap on the Play-Off places to four points.

Rotherham sit at the bottom of the Championship but the Millers beat Blues at the New York Stadium last term and Mick is expecting another tough 90 minutes on Saturday.

“They are fighting for their lives so we know what it will be like,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“They have Greenie [Paul Green] and Frazer [Richardson] back in their side and we know all about them having had them here on loan. They are good pros.

“They beat us there last year and they have got some good Championship players. It’s going to be a really hard game for us.

“We will need another performance like we gave against Bolton on Tuesday night.

“We have played much better over the last three games, not just against Bolton.  We’ve been more competitive all over the park and we need to continue that.

“It wasn’t that we had played badly before, it’s just that we have drawn too many games.”
