Daryl retained for Republic in Euro shoot-out with Bosnia

Daryl Murphy has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for their 2016 European Championship Play-Off against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Town striker was named in Martin O’Neill’s provisional squad for the two leg clash and has been retained.

The Republic will play the away leg in Bosnia on Friday, November 13 and then host the return fixture in Dublin three days later with the winner booking a place in the finals in France next summer.

Murph, who grabbed a hat-trick in Blues' 5-2 win at Rotherham on Saturday, led the line for the Irish in their crucial 1-0 win against Germany in the qualifiers last month, picking up his 17th cap.

David McGoldrick was also named in the provisional squad for the Play-Offs but was withdrawn after being forced out of Town’s squad to face Rotherham with a groin injury that has hindered him recently.
