Sears delighted to see the Blues return to winning ways and has called on Town to follow it up with another victory on Saturday
Freddie Sears has called on Town to take last night’s performance into the weekend clash with Rotherham.
The Blues got back on track with a 2-0 victory over Bolton last night, heading into Saturday’s trip to south Yorkshire.
“It was a big win for us last night after a tough month or so,” the striker told Ipswich Player HD.
“We want to build on this though, we don’t want to stop and we will be heading to Rotherham on Saturday looking to get the three points and push up the table.
“It won’t be easy- we saw that last season- as it’s a difficult place to go to but we are heading there on the back of a very good performance.
“We all battled well together and it was like the Ipswich Town of old, we need to continue that.”
The former Colchester man was also full of praise for strike partner Brett Pitman, someone who the forward believes he links us well with.
“I enjoyed playing with Pits and I was delighted to see him score- he deserved a goal for his performance,” added Freddie.
“I played a lot with him in pre-season because Murph and Didz [McGoldrick] were with the Irish squad and I felt we linked up well and have a good understanding.
“We’ve got four very good strikers at the Club and I think we can all play together, so it’s good to see us all linking up well for the team.”
