Ford fires the Blues in front but Development Squad defeated by strong Bees side at Playford Road
Town’s U21 Development Squad were defeated 3-1 by Brentford at Playford Road this afternoon.
The Blues took an early lead through striker Sam Ford, but the Bees hit back to take all three points thanks to strikes from Courtney Senor, Reece Cole and Jan Holldack.
Town started brightly and edged in front after just six minutes, as Ford finished at the back following a superb Myles Kenlock cross.
James Alabi headed over for the Blues after some fine work on the left from trialist Shilow Tracey, whilst Herson Alves missed an open goal for the Bees at the other end after being set up by Motell Moore.
However the visitors did draw level on the half hour mark, with Senor firing beyond Jonathan Henly in the Town goal as the sides went in level pegging at the break.
Alex Henshall went close for Town, as he curled against the crossbar, whilst Kyle Hammond also fired over the top following a neat pullback by Josh Emmanuel.
However a quick fire double in the second-half saw Brentford wrap up the points, as Cole and Holldack netted on 54 and 56 minutes respectively to seal the win.
