Boss delighted with display but frustrated the win slipped away

Mick McCarthy was delighted with the performance but bitterly disappointed Town didn’t get the three points against Wolves.

Blues twice led through Jonathan Douglas and Daryl Murphy but Kenny Jackett’s side left with a point after Benik Afobe added to James Henry’s first-half equaliser.

“There were loads of positives and I thought it was a really good performance from us but I am sitting here really frustrated,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“We let them off the hook. We should have won the game. We had enough chances to have done that.

“We scored first and we dominated the rest of the half from there and had chances but we didn’t defend properly for their equaliser.

“Then we got in front again but it was too easy for them to score against us. They will say it was a good goal but from our end, it was unacceptable.

“The neutrals will look at it as a cracking game but for us, it was a frustrating one.”
