BOSS LOOKS TO BUILD ON IMPROVEMENT

31 October 2015

Mick frustrated at Cardiff shut out but sees positives from recent performances

Mick McCarthy was left frustrated at being held by Cardiff but says his team have moved forward over the last two games.

Town had the better chances over the 90 minutes but David Marshall held firm in the Bluebirds’ goal to earn his side a point in game where Dean Gerken also impressed for Blues.

“Gerks did well, so did their ‘keeper. They are a good side, Cardiff but we had some good chances so it’s frustrating obviously that we didn’t get the win,” the Town  boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“I have seen some positives over the last two games though. We are far more competitive and we need to build on that.

“I’ve said this a few times lately but last season, we would have nicked that game today. It’s just not quite happening for us in front of goal but it will come, we just have to keep trying until it does.”
