Tabb and Turner put friendships- and outside interests- to one side as Town look to get back to winning ways with victory over Cardiff

Jay Tabb was proudly standing next to Cardiff defender Ben Turner in the winner’s enclosure at Cheltenham racecourse last week, alongside their horse Mister Miyagi.

The six year old had just finished first in the 4.30pm meet at the home of jump racing and the duo, who own the horse, were there to witness the victory.

Today though, the pair will be on opposite sides as Ben’s Cardiff visit Portman Road- with Jay acknowledging just how important today’s game is for Town.

“I used to room with Ben at Coventry and he always had the racing on the TV, which was fine by me as I started to enjoy it and get into it too,” said the midfielder, in an exclusive interview with tomorrow’s matchday programme.

“He then found out about owning a horse in a syndicate and asked me whether I wanted to get involved, which I did. It’s developed from there. He’s the one who got me into it.

“It was great to see Mister Miyagi win in the week and it is perfect timing really, with Cardiff coming to Portman Road today.

“He’s injured at the moment so I’m not sure whether he will be playing but it’s a big game for us and hopefully we can get back to winning ways.

“We need the three points and getting the victory would top off a great week or so for me.”
