Mick looking for a change in fortune and three points ahead of Cardiff challenge

Mick McCarthy’s hopes Town’s fortunes are about to turn with three points against Cardiff at the weekend but says patience is key.

Blues were denied a victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend with a 95th minute equaliser but the Town boss saw positives in the performance and is looking for continued improvement against the Bluebirds - with a little help from the supporters.

“It was very frustrating last weekend but if that is the bottom of the barrel for us, then let’s start climbing out of it, hopefully this weekend,” the boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“It’s going like that for us at the moment. Sometimes the more you push, the harder it comes back at you but you have to believe in what you are doing and we do.

“Things will change around for us and there were good signs last week but it’s down to us to make that happen.

“Cardiff have a good squad so it will be another difficult game and we will have to be patient - so will the supporters.

“We had great support at Forest last weekend. They got right behind all of us, players and staff and we really appreciate that.

“We need that support. You need that backing even more so when things are not going your way but let’s not disguise the fact that we need a win. We need a win to get us going and hopefully that will be tomorrow.”
