Ainsley frustrated not to take the three points this afternoon but pleased with the performance shown and praises the support from the fans

Loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles has bemoaned Town’s lack of luck, following another frustrating afternoon at Portman Road.

The Blues were held by Cardiff this afternoon- the second successive 0-0 draw at home- although Mick McCarthy’s side created a number of chances with Daryl Murphy striking the post in the first-half.

“The luck isn’t with us at the moment, but we’ll keep fighting as we do,” Ainsley told Ipswich Player HD.

“We’ll move onto our next game now and hopefully get the three points that we need, but there was a lot of strong performances today and that’s we need to lift us and get us winning again.

“It was frustrating but I thought the boys kept fighting to the end and it could have gone either way. However it didn’t, so we came away with a point and we’ll have to take that.

“The noise from the fans was excellent and we needed that support mentally. A lot of the players heard the support and we couldn’t even hear ourselves because of it, so it was brilliant.”
