Didz is latest to be pulled out of international action but young Blues report for duty
David McGoldrick picked up a groin injury in the defeat by Brighton on Saturday and was pulled out of the Republic of Ireland party for their 2016 European Championship qualifiers against Georgia and Gibraltar.
He joins fellow Irish team-mate Daryl Murphy, who has been sidelined for two weeks with a calf problem.
A hamstring injury has forced Christophe Berra out of Scotland’s squad for their Euro qualifiers against Georgia and Germany while Kevin Bru has been out with a hamstring problem since the first week of August, an injury that has seen him withdrawn from the Mauritius squad for their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.
However a number of young Blues are away on international duty.
Michael Crowe and Josh Yorwerth are with the Wales U21 squad for their game against Luxembourg on Friday, Ryan Fraser and Jonathan Henly are in the Scotland U21 squad for their 2017 European Championship qualifier against Northern Ireland on Saturday, Dylan Connolly is in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for their games against Qatar and Andorra, while Adam
McDonnell is in Ireland’s U19 squad for their match in Italy on September 7.
Completing the list is Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is away with England U19s for their friendlies in Germany and Croatia.
