Young midfielder will take his place on the bench tomorrow for the first time this campaign
Teddy Bishop will return to first-team action for the first time this season as Town welcome Charlton to Portman Road tomorrow.
The 19-year old is yet to play this season due to a number of recurring injuries and travelled to Wolverhampton on Saturday, although he wasn’t in the 18-man matchday squad.
“He’s on the bench tomorrow, Teddy, and I’m absolutely delighted to have him back, but he’s not ready to start a game,” the gaffer told the Club website.
“It’s easy to get carried away with playing those 60 by 40’s or half-pitch games but it’s when you’ve got to run 75 yards to chase back again and again, so starting a game is a non-starter.
“He’s only had a week’s training but he does look very sharp and already having him and Didzy [David McGoldrick] back has improved training sessions.”
Elsewhere, Daryl Murphy remains out with the calf injury he sustained on international duty but the manager has a relatively full squad to select from.
“Murph won’t be available for this one and he’s a doubt for Saturday as well,” he added.
“Everyone who played came through Saturday fine and Ainsley [Maitland-Niles] is back in the squad so everybody’s OK.”
