Town loanee hopes to remain at Portman Road beyond this season after making his first Championship start
Paul Digby has expressed his desire to make his loan switch from Barnsley a permanent one in the summer.
The defender, who joined on loan from Barnsley in January made his first League start for the Blues as they held promotion-chasers, Middlesbrough to a goalless draw at the Riverside.
“I’ve spoken to the gaffer and I want to stay here,” he told Ipswich Player HD following the stalemate.
“I’m loving it. The boys are class, the staff are class and I’m really enjoying my time here so hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement.
“I’ve been working hard and the staff have been working me hard even when I’ve not been playing like doing things after training so I was delighted it paid off and I got my first start.
“It was a good game. It was a bit scrappy at times but we’ve done well to keep a clean sheet and come away with a point.
“I knew it would be a tough game but we all did well out there, we stuck together and stuck to the job at hand and come away with a point so I’m delighted.”
