Town's Danish defender thinks his game is becoming more rounded as he scores his first Blues goal
Jonas Knudsen believes his game has become more rounded since joining Town, as he admits he needed to focus solely on the defensive side in his first few months.
The Danish full-back scored his first goal in a Town shirt as he bagged a last-minute equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Portman Road, and he believes he has come on a lot in his first season in England.
“At the start when I came over I needed to do the basic things right in the beginning before taking the next step, and the next step, so I feel I have done that,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“I’m happy with my first season but I want to finish it well for the fans and everybody in the town.
“I was very happy with my goal and it was very important for us because we didn’t want to lose at home. I’ve had chances in other games but I wanted to keep going and get one so I was happy to get it today.
“When the ball came back to me I just thought ‘you have to hit the goal now’. It came to me on the right foot, I got a good touch on it, and it was brilliant to see it go in.
“I want to go up the line and do everything I can offensively to helping the team create chances but as a full-back you need to know that defence is your priority.
“I hope I can get up the line more in the rest of the season because it helps the team, but I was happy to get the goal.”
