RYAN RETURN UNLIKELY SAYS BOSS

7 April 2016

Mick doesn't expect to see winger back with Blues as Murph misses Brentford showdown

Mick McCarthy admits that it’s unlikely Ryan Fraser will return to Portman Road to complete his loan stay.

The Scotland U21 international, who joined Blues from Bournemouth on a season long deal last summer, returned to the south coast for treatment on a torn hamstring sustained in the defeat at QPR at the start of February.

“He had a little setback recently and he is going to have to be 100 per cent fit for Bournemouth to allow him to join up with us again,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“With the end of the season not far away now, I’d be surprised if we see him back here. If he does come back then great because he ripped it up for us. We’d love to have him back but I doubt it will happen.”

Meanwhile Mick confirmed that Daryl Murphy will miss Saturday’s game against Brentford with a calf injury but it’s hoped he will be fit for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday next week.
