SEVEN CHANGES FOR STEVENAGE CUP TEST

8 August 2016

Blues boss announces his starting line-up before tomorrow's cup tie

Mick McCarthy has named his starting XI for tomorrow’s EFL Cup tie with Stevenage at Portman Road, with the boss making seven changes from the side which defeated Barnsley 4-2 on Saturday.

New signings Conor Grant and the weekend’s hat-trick hero, Grant Ward will both start the game, as will Paul Digby who will be making his first appearance since making his loan move from the Tykes a permanent one in the summer.

Youngster, Andre Dozzell will also start the game after impressing with his performances throughout pre-season in which he scored a superb goal in the 1-1 draw with Cambridge at the Abbey.

Brett Pitman, Giles Coke, and Luke Hyam will all miss out through injury while Daryl Murphy has been given a few days off after his shortened summer break due to his involvement with Ireland at Euro 2016.

The team will line-up as follows: Gerken, Chambers, Digby, Smith, Knudsen, Douglas, Bru, Dozzell, Grant, Ward, Sears.

Town’s new Fanzone, which first opened at the weekend, will be available to all fans again prior to tomorrow night’s game, with gates opening at 6pm.
