Close on 2000 Blues support Club's new initiative prompting midweek opening

The Fanzone will be open for tonight’s game against Stevenage after proving a big hit on its ‘debut’ on Saturday.

Close on 2000 fans entered the area on the fieldturf before kick-off against Barnsley, with youngsters entertained on the bouncy castles and other fun activities, while the ‘grown-ups’ headed for the bar in the Blue Inn marquee.

“We were delighted with the support the Fanzone received from the fans,” said Town MD Ian Milne.

“We weren’t sure what numbers to expect so to get nearly 2000 was fantastic. It’s a work in progress and we are receiving feedback from supporters on how we can improve things and we are looking at that already - but from the reaction we got on Saturday, the Fanzone is here to stay.

The Fanzone, sponsored by Greene King and Aspall, is open to ALL home fans with a match ticket, as well as Club members. It was going to be open for weekend games only but is only tonight and will be monitored for midweek games as we go through the season.

There are food outlets available tonight as well as the Blue Inn marquee and fun activities for the younger fans.

Entry is via Gate 1A from 6pm and all supporters must exit the Fanzone through that gate before heading to the turnstiles for entry into the stands.
