But Mick wary that it's not always a window of opportunity

Mick McCarthy is hoping to add some spark to his squad in the January sales.

The Town boss has drawn up a list of potential targets for Blues when the transfer window opens at the turn of the year but is aware that it’s never an easy time to do business.

“We are hopeful of adding some new faces in the transfer window. It’s a difficult window to operate in though. That’s not an excuse. It’s a fact,” Mick told Ipswich Player HD.

“New faces can provide a spark, add a bit more excitement. The can light up the place with their ability on the pitch; their personality around the place. We are working hard to try and make that happen in January.

“The new loan system will impact on clubs for sure when we go into the transfer window though. Clubs will be wary of letting players go out and leaving themselves short if they get a run of injuries.”
