Striker delighted to play his part in thriller in first start since injury

Brett Pitman said there will be more to come from him when he gets match fit.

The striker bagged two goals in Town’s dramatic win at Wigan on Saturday in what was his first start for Blues since sustaining ankle ligament damage against Leeds in September.

“I’ve played in the U23s and then had 30 minutes or so in the games against Cardiff and Birmingham so the next step was starting a match,” Brett told Ipswich Player HD after the 3-2 success at the DW Stadium.

“It was great to be out there against Wigan and obviously to play a part in helping us win the game.

“I was perhaps surprised to last the 90 minutes but I’d like to think that I’m pretty fit.

“I’m not as sharp as I’d like to be but that is only going to come with playing games.”
