Dane relishing festive programme as he looks for Town to kick on against Fulham

Jonas Knudsen is hoping for a repeat of last season’s Boxing Day when Town take on Fulham at Portman Road on Monday.

The Denmark international got his first taste of festive football in England last year and was in the team that beat QPR with a goal from Luke Chambers in added on time.

“We have a winter break in Denmark at this time so it was my first experience of playing football over Christmas last year,” the Town full-back, who joined Blues from Esbjerg in the summer of 2015, told the Club website.

“I enjoyed it. There was a great crowd here last year and we scored a winner in the last minute. It was a special occasion. Hopefully we can do that again on Monday against Fulham.

“We had a good win at Wigan last week and we need to look to build on that and gain some momentum to go into the second half of the season.

“The league is very tough. There are many good teams in the Championship and obviously we are not in the position we want to be in at the moment but we are not that far away. We have to stick together, keep doing the right things and we will get there.”

The FanZone opens at 1pm on Monday, with a bottle of Fosters to the first 100 adults to enter. Full details here of that and more freebies here.
