Blow for Blues as midfielder undergoes shoulder surgery

Jonny Williams is expected to be out of action for three months after having surgery on his shoulder this afternoon.

The midfielder landed heavily on his arm during Saturday’s win at Wigan and following scans, was operated on in London.

“Jonny had what is basically a dislocation of his shoulder at Wigan,” confirmed Town physio Matt Byard to the Club website.

“There was significant cartilage damage and a small fracture and the shoulder joint was completely unstable.

“He had surgery earlier today to stabilise the joint and we are looking at around 12 weeks before he is back playing again, without any setbacks.”

Jonny, who is on a season loan at Portman Road from Crystal Palace, will do his rehabilitation at Town.
