Butcher and Osman on their bike as 80 sign up already in charity ride

Terry Butcher and Russell Osman are teaming up again in Town colours - this time to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and Friends of Ipswich Town.

The Blues’ legends will be joined by a string of other former players, including Titus  Bramble, Mick Stockwell and Alan Lee on the latest TEAMITFC bike ride, which in May 2017 will this time take in the delights of the Suffolk countryside.

“The dates are May 14 and May 15. The route is currently being planned and will be signed all the way from Portman Road to the Potters Resort in Hopton and back again,” explained ex-Town midfielder and now Director of Academy Sales, Simon Milton, who has led the Club’s cycle challenges over the last three years.

“It will be approximately 75 miles per day with stops at 25 miles and 50 miles on both days. The route will take us on a big round trip through the glorious countryside of Suffolk. Refreshments will be available at both stops and we will be using selected Greene King pubs & East of England Co-Op stores as stop off points.

“The overnight accommodation for everyone is at the Potters Resort. The venue is excellent and they have organised a private room with a bar for us on arrival, somewhere to store our bikes, shoes and helmets overnight and a private room for dinner and breakfast.  Check them out on”

Bryan Klug and Lee O'Neill from the Academy are also planning to take part, as well as other Club staff.

“We have had over 80 people already sign up, which is amazing,” added Milts.

The challenge is sponsored by the following: Main sponsor: GAH Refrigeration; Associate sponsors: Marshall Hatchick Solicitors, Hopkins Homes, Seven Telematics; Support team: Elmy Cycles, Greene King, East Of England Co-Op, Global Self Drive.
