Boss looking for change in momentum and to end year on winning note

Mick McCarthy is looking for Town to finish the year on a winning note and give everyone a lift.

Blues end 2016 against Bristol City at Portman Road on Friday night and the Town boss says his team have to recapture the form that saw them start the year in the Play-Off places.

“We’re obviously looking to finish the year with a win and give everyone a lift - and we need a lift,” writes Mick in his column in Friday’s matchday programme.

“I’m not hiding from that. For near enough four years we have been on an upward curve. At the moment, it’s not happening and we have to change that. We have to change the momentum.

“We started the year in the top six and we have to get back to that team. Back then and long before it, for three years or so, teams hated playing against us. That isn’t the case at the moment.”

Kick-off against Bristol is 7.45pm.
