Blues end the year on winning note
Ben Morris almost gave Gerard Nash’s side an early lead with a low drive before George Fowler did find the net, the defender heading home James Blanchfield’s free-kick.
Blanchfield went close with a strike, Morris denied by the ‘keeper, then Adam McDonnell fired over as Town dominated.
Ten minutes before the break Blues did grab a second goal that had been coming, Morris finishing calmly.
QPR were handed a lifeline early in the second-half but Nick Hayes produced a terrific save to deny Axel Prohouly from the penalty spot.
Hayes was immediately into the action again with a save to keep out Kingsley Eshun but on the hour, Town wrapped the game up with Luke Woolfenden heading in a third.
The visitors grabbed a consolation goal in the last stages through Danny Rowe.
