Blues defender looks at Town's inconsistencies in recent weeks following the 2-0 defeat at Bristol City

Adam Webster believes Town’s topsy turvy run of form is testament to just how difficult the Championship can be.

The defender played as the Blues fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bristol City at Ashton Gate, but believes that hard work will breed consistency.

“It’s very up and down because there’s so much quality in the league,” he told Ipswich Player HD.

“It’s a difficult fixture every week but we know that and we’ll be doing everything we can this week to prepare for next Saturday.

“Everyone beats everyone in the league, and it’s not just us. Teams all over the league will be feeling like we are at the minute but it’s the fine margins that can win you games and that happened today.

“You get those days, and you get days where the strikers are relying on the defence to keep a clean sheet so we’d have taken a 0-0 and walked away, but that didn’t happen.

“We’re all frustrated with the result because there wasn’t too much in the game, but there’s, in my opinion, a soft penalty and then a wonder-strike,.

“There are positives and we’ll take them into next weekend’s game with Cardiff.”
