Boss irked by media 'blackout' of Blues

Mick McCarthy admits he gets frustrated on occasions that the Club does not get much exposure in the national media despite being in the Play-Off places.

Blues went back into the top six with victory over Reading on Tuesday night but you wouldn’t have known it if you looked in the national newspapers the following morning.

“The national paper I had and I’m not going to name it, didn’t have a word on our win against Reading, not a word,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player HD.

“We are in the Play-Off places but not word on us at all. Am I bitter and twisted about that, too right I am! It does irk me.

“We played Brighton here and we were top and they were second and there wasn’t a camera in sight in our press conference before the game. That really irked me. I thought, is that the interest in the Championship then?"

Subscribers to Ipswich Player HD can watch the full interview with Mick now as he looks forward to the QPR game.
