Andre Dozzell captains the England U17's as they're held by Germany in Lagos
Three of Town’s youngsters were in action as England’s U17 side drew 2-2 with Germany in Lagos.
Midfielder, Andre Dozzell and goalkeeper, Nick Hayes started the game while striker, Ben Morris made an appearance off the bench for Steve Cooper’s side as a last minute goal from Leipzig’s Renat Dadashov denied the Young Lions their first win in this year’s Algarve Tournament.
Dozzell pulled on the captain’s armband for the opening 40 minutes as England raced into a two-goal lead in the first-half courtesy of a brace from Sheffield Wednesday striker George Hirst.
The Germans begun pressing to get back into the game and Hayes did his best to keep the lead intact with a penalty save early in the second period, but his resistance was broken as Florian Baak pulled one back before Dadashov levelled in the dying moments.
England will play their final game of the tournament tomorrow afternoon as they face the Netherlands as Town’s trio look to add to their respective appearance tallies for the Young Lions.
