Chris Smith on the scoresheet as Town's U21s held by Brentford.
A second-half goal from Chris Smith was enough to earn Town's U21s a point against Brentford at Griffin Park this afternoon.
Bradley Clayton had given the Bees the lead with just over half an hour on the clock, but the Blues put in a better performance after half-time and deservingly snatched a goal.
The first-half offered little in terms of chances, but Brentford nearly took the lead with less than ten minutes played, but Jacob Marsden was equal to a Jan Holldack effort.
Shane McLoughlin had the clearest sight of goal for Town in the first period as he robbed a Brentford defender of the ball on the edge of the area, but his touch was just a little bit too heavy to allow him an effort at goal.
It was the hosts that would go into the break with a lead, though, as Bradley Clayton linked up well with Reece Cole through the middle, before dinking the ball over the onrushing Marsden and into the net, despite the best efforts of Josh Emmanuel to clear.
Mark Kennedy's side showed signs of improvement early in the second half, and levelled things up with just under half an hour to play as Smith fired home from the edge of the six-yard box after Kyle Hammond had knocked down an Adam McDonnell free-kick.
Hammond almost won it for Town in the final moments, but his stinging drive from the edge of the area was parried clear by Jack Bonham in the Brentford goal, as the match finished level.
