Boss wants players to give him something to think about at Pompey

Mick McCarthy has challenged the players who will come into the side against Portsmouth to ‘give him something to think about’.

The Town boss will be making changes to his line-up at Fratton Park for the FA Cup third round replay, with a number of players missing who featured in the draw against Preston at the weekend.

“We’ve got a lot of bumps and bruises and I’ll definitely be making changes for the game,” Mick told Ipswich Player HD.

"Luke Chambers played with a calf injury against Preston, Christophe [Berra] has had an injection in his shoulder and Cole Skuse has a tight hamstring.

“They have played in all the games and it has taken its toll.

“We have 19 games left in the league and I need to see the players who can come in, out on the pitch.

“They will get a chance on Tuesday and let’s hope they give me something to think about.

“Portsmouth have not played since we played them and they will be fresh. We will have fresh legs out there as well though.”
