Town defender Smith is happy with the work done over the festive period, as the Blues unbeaten away run stretches to seven.
Tommy Smith admits he is pleased with the results Town have gathered over the busy festive period and that they are in a good place for a promotion push.
The defender helped the Blues extend an unbeaten away run which now stands at seven as they drew 0-0 with Burnley at Turf Moor.
“Christmas is often a crucial period for teams, either looking upwards or behind them but fortunately for us we’ve managed to pick up a good few points and we’re right in the mix,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“We knew it’d be a tough game against Burnley especially with it being away from home and unfortunately we didn’t get the record for the most consecutive away wins but the unbeaten run goes on.
“They have a good strike-force with Vokes and Gray so we knew we were going to have to keep them quiet if we knew we were going to have any chance of getting something out of the game.
“There wasn’t too many clear cut chances for either side, but it would have been harsh if one of the half chances had gone in. A draw was probably a fair result today.”
