TOWN COULD FACE CHERRIES

11 January 2016

The Blues will host Premier League Bournemouth at Portman Road should Mick McCarthy's side progress past Portsmouth in a third round replay next week

Ipswich Town will play Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup, should the Blues defeat Portsmouth in a third round replay at Fratton Park.

Town will host the Premier League Cherries in the fourth round, after being drawn at home, although have to guide their way through a tricky third round replay against League Two Portsmouth first.

Should Town take on Eddie Howe’s side then there will be plenty of connections, with former Town man Tyrone Mings now on the south coast whilst Blues duo Brett Pitman and Ryan Fraser both helped the Cherries win the Championship title last term.

Ticket prices and sale dates for this fixture, should it be needed, will be announced on our official Club website and social media channels in due course.

Town saw their involvement in the competition last season ended by Southampton- another south coast side- but will hope to go one better against Portsmouth and then hopefully Bournemouth this time around.
