Brett and Luke miss Belgium test for Blues as new season approaches
Brett Pitman and Luke Hyam will miss the game through injury but it’s hoped they will be available for next weekend’s Championship opener against Barnsley.
Roland Lamah, who has trained with Town during the week and played in the draw with Charlton on Tuesday, is expected to feature against the Belgians.
The winger, a Belgium international, has Anderlecht, Osasuna, Swansea on loan and Ferencvaros on his CV.
Though now playing in the second tier of Belgian football, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise are steeped in history and are one of the most successful clubs in their country with 11 league championship titles to their name between 1904 and 1935.
They put together a run of 60 consecutive games without defeat between 1933 and 1935, a record that still stands to this day in Belgium.
Founded in 1897 and with two Belgian Cup triumphs in their trophy cabinet, they played in European club competition football on a number of occasions in the 1960s.
Managed now by Marc Grosjean, they finished sixth in the Belgian second division last season.
