Former Town striker passes away at the age of 71

Former Town striker John O’Rourke has passed away at the age of 71. 

The Northampton-born frontman scored 31 goals in 72 games for Blues after arriving at Portman Road from Middlesbrough in February 1968.

He spent 18 months with Town, then headed to Coventry. He was capped by England at U23 level before joining Blues. 

John passed away in hospital in Dorset after suffering with liver cancer.

Ipswich Town FC sends condolences to the family and friends of John at this sad time.
