Olly Murs and Coggeshall hold Town XI to draw in friendly played out in front of 1,000 people at West Street
A young Town XI were held to a 1-1 draw with Coggeshall on Friday night, with the Essex side also introducing popstar Olly Murs into the side during the second-half.
The young Blues were certainly put through their paces by Coggeshall, who hit the bar twice, but in the end neither side could be separated, with Ben Morris on target for Town.
Gerard Nash took the side, assisted by Bryan Klug, following Mark Kennedy's departure to the Manchester City Academy and Town took the lead midway through the first-half with a fine goal.
Tristan Nydam picked out Kundai Benyu with a fine pass before the midfielder's low cross was swept into the net by Morris.
Coggeshall continued to press and Jacob Marsden came to Town's rescue, making a fine stop before Danny Young fired over from close range for the hosts.
Olly Murs, fresh from a London photoshoot for his new single, joined the action in the second-half and was immediately involved in a midfield battle with Benyu.
The hosts did grab a deserved equaliser soon after though, with the impressive Nnamdi Nwachuku getting the goal his performance merited with a strong drive that Marsden couldn't keep out.
That was the way it ended as an entertaining game ended in stalemate.
