Summer signing could make first appearance in a Blue shirt this evening after being named in the squad to take on Colchester

Adam Webster could be in line for his first Ipswich Town appearance, after being named in the squad for tonight’s friendly with Colchester.

The summer signing from Portsmouth has recovered from an ankle injury he suffered at the back end of last season and takes his place in the 27-man party making the trip to Essex.

Also joining Adam in the squad is striker Daryl Murphy, who has returned to Playford Road following an extended break due to his involvement with Ireland at Euro 2016.

Former Colchester duo, Freddie Sears and Dean Gerken, should also both feature at the Weston Homes Community Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Tonight’s friendly also marks the return of the Alderton Trusler Trophy, which the winners of tonight’s game will become the holders of until the next time the two sides face off.
