Portman Road to welcome Belgian side before EFL season gets underway

Town will host Belgian Proximus League side, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise at Portman Road on July 30th (kick-off 3pm).

The fixture will be the final friendly match of the summer before the new EFL Championship campaign gets underway the following week.

Union SG, who finished sixth in Belgium’s second tier last season, are 11 times champions of the Pro League, with only Anderlecht and Club Brugge winning more, although the last of their triumphs came back in 1935.

The Blues have already had fixtures confirmed away at Shelbourne (July 9th), Barnet (July 13th), Colchester United (July 20th) Cambridge United (July 23rd), and Charlton (July 26th) as preparation for the new campaign begins.
