Town striker to feature at EURO 2016 for the Republic of Ireland but it's disappointment for McGoldrick who narrowly misses out on a place in the final 23
Daryl Murphy will compete at Euro 2016 in France this summer, after being named in the Republic of Ireland’s 23-man squad.
The Town striker, who earned his 21st cap against Belarus last night, has been selected alongside Robbie Keane and Shane Long to lead the line for Ireland, by boss Martin O’Neill.
However it is disappointment for his Town teammate David McGoldrick, who narrowly misses out on the finals after being omitted from the final list.
Didz has caught the eye since making his recovery from injury and earned praise from O’Neill for his performance against Holland, before coming on as a substitute during the defeat to Belarus last night.
Daryl will hope to feature at the finals for Ireland, with the ‘Boys in Green’ taking on Sweden, Belgium and Italy in Group E.
The official Club website will be tracking Daryl’s progress with regular updates this summer.
