Midfielder in Africa Cup of Nations action and Monty helps New Zealand to victory

Kevin Bru was in the Mauritius side that went down 2-0 to Ghana in their latest 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier over the weekend.

The Town midfielder picked up his seventh cap in the game, with Ghana’s victory confirming their place in the finals in Gabon.

Mauritius, who are skippered by Kevin’s older brother, Jonathan, are third in their qualifying group and finish their campaign in Mozambique in September.

Meanwhile young Town professional Monty Patterson picked up his third cap for New Zealand as a substitute in their 1-0 win over the Solomon Islands in their final group game in the Oceania Nations Cup.

The win gave the All Whites a top of the table finish and a place in the semi-finals.
