Defender returns to Portman Road on a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 month stay from Barnsley after spell on loan at Town last term
Paul Digby has today signed a permanent deal with Ipswich Town, ahead of the new EFL Championship season.
The defender, who spent the latter part of last term with the Blues, has penned a one-year contract from Barnsley, which includes the option of a further 12 month stay.
Paul signed on the dotted line this morning, joining on a free transfer, before linking up with the rest of Mick McCarthy’s first-team squad for the first day of pre-season training.
After coming through the Academy ranks at Oakwell, Paul now embarks on a new chapter in his career after impressing enough to secure a permanent switch to Portman Road following his loan spell last term.
Capable of playing in defence or in midfield, his long-term future is at centre-half in the eyes of boss Mick McCarthy.
A full interview with Paul will be available on Ipswich Player HD and our official YouTube channel later today.
