Tottenham U15s come out on top in Academy Showcase game at Portman Road

Despite a spirited performance from Town’s U15 side, Spurs ran out 3-1 winners in this evening’s Academy Showcase game at Portman Road.

The Londoners took the lead with a quarter of an hour played as Jamie Bowden fired into the top right hand corner from 20 yards before Phoenix Patterson looked to double their tally, only to see his close range effort cannon off the crossbar.

Town levelled right on the stroke of half-time as Armando Dobra found himself through on goal, before faking a shot and dinking the ball over the Spurs ‘keeper, who had fallen for the initial dummy.

Toby Egan was called into action early in the second-half as he expertly clawed away a Rodel Richards strike, but Patterson put the visitors back in front minutes later as he shot home from around the penalty spot after an earlier strike had come back off the post.

Patterson wrapped things up with 20 minutes to go, and it almost mimicked the first one as he drove forward before his powerful effort flew into the net in front of an appreciative crowd.
