Striker pencilled in for Wolves comeback but Bish likely to miss rest of season
The Republic of Ireland international has been sidelined since tearing his hamstring badly in December but returned to training yesterday and has been ear-marked for the Wolves game on April 2.
“Didz is back on the training field now and he is very positive about the way things are going for him,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.
“We have a game against Forest at U21 level next week and the intention is that he will play in that and providing there is no reaction, we will look to have him in the squad for the game at Wolves after the international break.”
The news is not so positive for Teddy Bishop though. He has been out since pre-season with damage to his hamstring tendon.
“Unfortunately Bish is not where we hoped he would be in his recovery,” added Mick.
“He is getting there but it’s been a slow process. We have to be careful with him and with only 10 games left, it’s looking more likely that it will be pre-season before he is ready to play.”
Meanwhile Kevin Foley is available for Tuesday's game against Blackburn after recovering from a rib injury that saw him miss the defeat at Cardiff.
