Academy graduate defender to make loan switch to Maldon & Tiptree for the remainder of the campaign

Kyle Hammond has today joined Maldon & Tiptree on loan until the end of the season, subject to paperwork.

The defender, who progressed through the Academy ranks at Portman Road, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and has been informed he won’t be kept on.

The Ipswich-born full-back never made an appearance for the first-team, although was on the bench during January’s FA Cup replay defeat to Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Kyle has been a regular for the U21 side and recently scored both goals in the win over Watford, with the first being a goal of the season contender for the Development Squad.

The right-back, who can also play in midfield, will team up with the Jammers until the end of their season and will line up alongside former Town teammates Darren McQueen and Ben Wyatt, as well as Cemal Ramadan who is on loan there.
