Boss hopeful on Skuse and Murphy fitness levels ahead of the weekend trip to Cardiff
Mick McCarthy is hopeful that both Cole Skuse and Daryl Murphy should be available for the trip to Cardiff this weekend.
Skuse has missed the last five games with a foot injury, whilst striker Murphy has been absent with a calf problem, but the boss is optimistic that the pair will be part of the squad to travel to South Wales.
“I’m optimistic on both Skusey and Murph,” Mick told Ipswich Player HD.
“They should be back for us, which is a boost as we suffered a few knocks at Bolton in the week.
“Ben Pringle took a bang to his foot, Kev Foley took one to the ribs and we saw Kevin Bru take a heavy knock just before half-time.
“They should be fine but we don’t want the injuries to pile up, so it’s good that we have a few more coming back as well.
“I’m also very pleased with the progress of David McGoldrick and he will be training fully with the squad on Sunday, which is positive news.
“He’s been working hard with Lids [Andy Liddell, fitness coach] and his injury is okay now, it’s just about getting him back up to match speed.”
