Blue feels comfortable at international level as Euro deadline approaches
The 28-year-old striker won his third cap for the Republic in their 1-1 draw with Holland in a friendly in Dublin on Friday.
Ireland play Belarus in another warm-up game in Cork tonight with manager Martin O’Neill set to reveal his squad for the Euros after the final whistle.
“I feel comfortable playing international football,” Didz told the Club website.
“It’s different from Championship football obviously. You get more time on the ball but that suits my game. You are playing with top Premier League players as well but you are playing against top players so while you might get more time on the ball to pick a pass, it’s still a big challenge.
“I have belief in my own ability though. I think if you have that, you are halfway there.”
Daryl Murphy is also hoping to make Ireland’s final 23 for the summer tournament in France and is expected to lead the line against Belarus tonight.
