Full New Zealand call-up for Monty Patterson ahead of Oceania Nations Cup later this month

Monty Patterson has earned his first call-up to the full New Zealand squad, for the upcoming Oceania Nations Cup in Papa New Guinea.

The Academy striker, who can also operate in midfield, has been capped at youth level by New Zealand but is now in line for his first appearance for the All Whites at senior level.

It’s a huge boost for Monty, who has recovered well from a serious ankle injury he suffered in a game against Leeds United and will team up with the All Whites squad shortly for a training camp in Brisbane, Australia.

Anthony Hudson’s side take on Fiji in their opening game on Saturday 28th May, then face Vanuatu three days later before completing their group matches against the Solomon Islands on Sunday, 4th June with all their games to take place in Port Moresby.

Former Town loanee, Chris Wood, will skipper the All Whites, whilst Blues defender Tommy Smith is left out of the squad.
