Town defender plays his part but Scotland go down to England in World Cup showdown
Christophe Berra played the full game but couldn’t stop Scotland going down 3-0 to England in a 2018 World Cup qualifier at Wembley last night.
The Town defender was one of eight changes that Scotland boss Gordon Strachan made to the team that lost 3-0 to Slovakia in their last game and the Scots held their own for much of the match.
They had two gilt edged chances to have levelled the scores in the first two minutes of the second-half before Adam Lallana added to Daniel Sturridge’s first-half opener.
Gary Cahill completed the scoring in what was Bez’s 34th cap for his country.
Meanwhile young Town pro, Monty Patterson, came on as a second-half substitute for New Zealand in their 2-0 win over New Caledonia in a World Cup qualifier.
