Former Blues defender promotes charity auction at Portman Road

Town legend Terry Butcher was back at Portman Road earlier today to promote the 2016 Ultimate Charity Auction.

The auction, which closes this Sunday at 6:45pm, has over 100 lots to bid on, including some Town-specific ones, such as: a signed football, a matchday media experience, and an executive day for eight people.

“There’s a phenomenal combination of prizes and gifts for charity,” Terry told Ipswich Player HD.

“There are loads of prizes relating to football. You can go and watch teams like Leicester, Spurs, Man City and Barcelona train, then watch them play afterwards, you can spend fifteen minutes with Sir Alex Ferguson, there’s a signed Real Madrid shirt and there’s a whole array of prizes beyond football too.

“They all go to some great causes, with the GeeWizz Charity, Sarcoma UK, and West Suffolk Hospital all benefiting, as well as the LMA Foundation and the Grassroots Foundation.

“100% of the money goes to those charities, so it can help people all over Britain and not just in Suffolk so it makes it very worthwhile.”
