Dane back for Sheffield and possible international action

Jonas Knudsen has recovered from a back injury and is available for the visit to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The full-back had to be replaced at half-time in the defeat at Newcastle after taking a knock and missed the draw against Rotherham last weekend.

He has returned to training though and is set to be included in the squad for the game at Hillsborough.

“Jonas trained today and he is okay and Luke Chambers trained as well so everyone is fine except for the long term ones [Luke Hyam, Tommy Smith and Brett Pitman],” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

Chambo also took a knock at Newcastle and was a doubt leading up to the Rotherham game.

Jonas’ recovery from injury means he also available for Denmark’s World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on Friday, November 11 and a friendly against the Czech Republic four days later. The 24-year-old has been named in their provisional squad which will be trimmed down after the weekend.
